Where is it?

I didn’t expect “where” to click like this.

He’s heard it so many times already—from us and daycare—but it never really landed.

Then one day during bath time, I brought in a little rubber spider from London Drugs. You press it down and it slowly floats back up.

I put it in the water and asked, “Where is it?”

At first he just looked at me like, what are you doing?

Then when it floated up, I got excited—
“there it is! found it!”

After a few times, he got into it.

Every time I pressed it down, he started saying,
“where? where is it?”

And he just kept going.

It turned into a little game and he didn’t get bored at all.

I think it finally made sense to him because it wasn’t just a word anymore—it was something he was waiting for.

And honestly, it doesn’t have to be a spider.
Any bath toy works—a duck, a boat, a fish, anything that sinks and floats back up.
